    Roo making gurgling sounds. Help!

Last night I went to close up the coop and my roo was snoring. I thought it was hysterical so I recorded him doing it. This morning when I let them out he was still doing it. Now I'm panicking. He doesn't have any other symptoms. No swelling, paleness, eating and drinking although maybe a bit...

What breed are these? (5 weeks)

I got these amongst my Isa browns from Tractor Supply as day old "hatchery mixes".... obviously they are different breeds, still hoping they're both the "pullets" I thought they were! Any idea of what breed they could be? Also, the one looking really cute in the first picture is a bit of a punk...

    When to introduce to flock/coop?

I'm gonna go for this! How long should I keep them in the kennel for? Also, what can I use to make a cave over the heating pad? Thanks so much!

    When to introduce to flock/coop?

Thank you! I'll look into this. I figured introducing them now might help the transition. It's also getting quite cool out in the evenings but I do have a lamp and a heating pad they can use.

    When to introduce to flock/coop?

Chicks are about 3 weeks old (seems soooo much longer to me!) and our coop is a she'd like structure about 8x10. I put them in the kennel without a bottom to let them scratch outside but they were getting through the sides.

    When to introduce to flock/coop?

I'm new at raising chicks but I have 5 older hens. My chicks are not fully feathered but getting big so I'm planning ahead. I know I should not introduce them to my hens until they are the same size and preferably at night. I was wondering if I would be able to put them in the coop (when they...

    Brooder lamp question

Thanks for all the info and advice! I ended up with a heating pad and I'm upset I didn't get it first! I literally saw my electric bill drop and I (And the chicks) can sleep soundly at night!

    Brooder lamp question

Thanks so much for the advice! The thermometer reads 95 directly under the lamp and the chicks are around the light. They aren't stretched out or panting and they seem happy, but I know I'll have to adjust the temp soon. The oven rack is an awesome idea! I tried ours from our oven but it's too...

    Brooder lamp question

Hi guys, Just got 6 pullets this morning and I have them set up in our family room. This isn't a permanent living arrangement for them, so I want to know how to temporarily attach the brooder lamp. Hanging on anything permanent isn't ideal. For right now, it's clamped on and giving me...
