The lady who owns the sanctuary had a little boy who was thrilled to have a new silkie roo who he named Fluffy. It has been weird not hearing the boys crow. Our neighbor was using them as a alarm clock, he was a little sad when we told him that we had to send them to the farm. Its been a long 2...

Oct. 29th, Alex from Funny Feather Farm brought me some silkies hoping he had brought me 2 hens born in July. Sadly after DNA testing we discovered that we had a boy and girl. At the end of Nov, I had 3 roos crowing and trying to be fair to my neighbors and to my roos. Tiny and Eeny plus the...

What did you do in the garden today?

My son combed through my cucumbers and tomatoes last night. I had 5 huge cucumbers and his grandma came over to nab my oldest for school shopping, so she ended up some of them :) She had gotten a whole 4 qt box of cherry tomatoes and beef steak tomatoes and a ton of my homemade soap :D Today I...

What did you do in the garden today?

The older shoots had to be cut off :( I tried babying them but they never recovered. But there are babies coming up so Im pretty thrilled that my week vacation didnt destroy them completely. My nightmare of a house sitter did nothing while we were gone. We were able to save our gardens flower...

What did you do in the garden today?

Today I picked more tomatoes. This heat has been crazy. My front flower bed has been taken over by tree saplings so I had to trim them up. My husbands and stepson havent seen my trimmings pile yet. I think the heat ruined my elephant ear plant because they never came back after my new york trip...

What did you do in the garden today?

Discovered last night my 4 year old got into the tomatoes... shes picked many of them. All green. My bad because I didnt latch the gate properly. At least today is going to be a mellow day, not as hot as the last week... the 100+ week of doom.

Looking to buy some Silkies that are different color than black/blue. I live in the Sacramento area and does anyone know of any breeders in the California area?

When we moved to my new house in 2021. It was uncared for and looks 100% different. But its one of my favorite pictures of my dog, Bear. He's half Corgi, half Boston Terrier.

What did you do in the garden today?

I weeded around my garden kennel (my youngest thinks the flowers are fun to pick so the whole garden is in a kennel, plus helps with the drip system that I have) picked some cherry tomatoes and checked my cucumbers and planted some new irises I got :)
