    Right side of her face is still swollen looks more red and almost like abscess. I cleaned skin with alcohol and stuck needle through it but there was no puss. She is on day 2 of tetracycline and second round of flagyl. Anyone else had experience with abscesses?

    She is not doing that well today, I found more of the yellow/gray stuff inside her beak and took it out. Then squirted more Flagyl in her mouth and then gave her a shot. She probably would hatw me by now if birds could hate.

    Is it tetracycline or oxytetracycline? What is the concentration? If you chicken has a virus there is no medication for it but if it's bacteria tetracycline will do. You have to give right dose. Not sure what kind you got. Is it liquid? What concentration? I had chicken with cough and wheezing...

    Thanks for advise. I will hold off on the oxytetra then. How long would you keep her on metronidazole? What is blackhead? Is copper sulfate toxic to cats? My cat hangs out with chickens and drinks their water

    Eyes are not swallen. As for canker in chickens, it is caused by trichomonas which is a protozoan that is only contagious by direct contact with saliva. It dies fast outside of wet environment. So i am just cleaning water everyday and keeping everything dry to prevent spreading disease
