Eny help

Is it tetracycline or oxytetracycline? What is the concentration? If you chicken has a virus there is no medication for it but if it's bacteria tetracycline will do. You have to give right dose. Not sure what kind you got. Is it liquid? What concentration? I had chicken with cough and wheezing and I have her 5 days of intramuscle injection. 30 mg of oxytetracycline. The concentration was 100mg/mL so, it was 0.3mL. It has to be higly concebtrated because you dont want to inject lot of volume in het muscle (her breast). Also fyi it will hurt at site of injection so try not to do it in same place.
Antibiotic in water may not be concentrated enough.

please post with as much detail as possible in the "emergencies, diseases, illness and treatment thread" some people with more experience monitor that site. She may need a different medication. Keep her away from the others so she doesn't get trampled or pecked - she needs guiet and rest & warmth.. Is she eating at all /drinking??

I looked in my health book and it sounds like chronic respiratory disease. Treatment says Gallimycin will reduce death rate but survivors will be carriers. does sound like a vaccine is available for chicks. I have the chicken health handbook, I bought it from murry mcmurray hatchery where I got my chicks. It is in more of our language so we don't have to be a vets to understand it. I wish you the best
