This is still the US, the land of the free, and if I want to raise my animals in their own poop, why can't I? If they are healthy, happy and display no symptoms of illness, why can't I raise them the way I want? I might think its the new green...
By the way, there are plenty of pet...
That doesn't mean they should live in their own poop. Do you see pet rabbit owners keeping rabbits in filthy cages? No? Why should "livestock" rabbits then?
Rabbits poop a lot, yes, but that doesn't mean it isn't possible to keep them clean. I've kept rabbits my whole life. I line their cages...

No, it happens all the time because CPS is limited to only taking children in imminent danger. It's not unusual for them to take only the child who has been sexually abused from the home, or only the infant suffering from Failure to Thrive, etc.
And when CPS oversteps their limits...
Admittedly, we need animal control. But in the past AC was only allowed to seize abandoned or sick animals who needed immediate help. Now, they go in and use the generic term "deplorable" conditions and seize every animal regardless of its current state of health. That is NOT what animal...
That's so wrong! I've had La Fleche for a while and they are like any other breed. The more time you spend with them the more affectionate they will become. Mine have always been sweet. I love the La Fleche! They just look mean but they're actually big babies.
Thanks for setting that straight...
I think they are smarter than your average bird! LOL I live in Arkansas, and actually drove all the way to Belton in April for a rabbit show. So there is the potential to be in your area some day...
I know how you feel. I love buttercups, too, including the roosters. Flighty, but sweet, quiet, delicate and good layers. And I am in need of a rooster! I have two beautiful hens who need a mate, but I can not find any. I tried to post a wanted ad, but I don't have 10 posts yet...this is...
The only ones I really have not liked have been the Blue Andalusians--the roosters are beautiful, but the hens not so much. And bantam cochins are just ok.
I've liked my silkies, buttercups, brown leghorns, orpingtons, polish (except one mean rooster), EEs--and I hope to like my new d'Uccles...
I'm new to EEs this year. The five standard sized I got in March are the exact opposite of this little one. They are bearded, loosely feathered and are very friendly. This little one is tightly feathered and hyper!! But SH does sell a non-bearded bantam "Ameraucana" with a pea comb, so I bet...
This little chick came with my order of buttercups in April, but other than having willow legs, it looks nothing like the buttercups. It is smaller than the buttercups and it was much slower in feathering out. It is extremely fast, and darts everywhere. I contacted Sand Hill but got no answer...
