    I think it really depends. TSC doesn't sex their birds as far as I know. I got my white bearded silkie hen from TSC 2 years ago. She's at the fair right now and won Best of Variety. She's not the best show bird, but not the worst either.

    Actually, I got my silkie from Tractor Supply. There was a bin of assorted bantams. I just looked around for the fluffy ones with feathered feet and found my silkie she won best of variety at the fair too!
