Getting more obvious than it is getting worse. she’s walks longer distances and can still access food and water no problem and they’re on opposite sides of her homing box. Only thing we havn’t tried yet is getting her to swim so i’m not sure what its like for that as she freaks out in water
I’d say I think so, she was always unstead on her feet as a hatchling (obviously) and I noticed from the start that she was off on one leg hence why she’s been on supplements for 2 weeks at only 3 weeks old.. i’ve looked at older videos and her leg looks like it’s always been that way. She was...
Ok good! I wasn’t sure if we were using enough. Other than that when banding/splinting her legs should I be concerned about them being in the position they are? As the pictures i first uploaded showed she just pushes her legs behind her but cant pull them back to where they’re supposed to be
These are the supplements she’s getting mixed in with unmedicated chick crumb at the minute. Niacin B3 capsules from a local health store and Battles Poultry Spice
EDIT: just to add we are following the Instructions for the poultry spice of one Sprinkling with a full feeder (she has a 750ml one...
best video I can get so far! It’s not an ideal surface but its hard to video her in her bedding at the minute. Can walk on it but not much and the leg seems to rest at an angle?
This is a stupid question but what is the best way to do this? I don’t want it to be too tight incase she hurts herself. I’m not massively experienced with this as she is my first and only egg duckling to hatch
Thank you! I have attached 3 images of her with the banding on her legs, this is how she insists on sitting and will even attempt to walk like this refusing to pick herself up. Other two pictures are how the leg sits naturally when she is sat on it and being held up. Any advice would be...
3 week old duckling suspected splayed leg. Hobbles but will still put weight on the leg, when sat down leg is pushed behind the body and never under the body. Initially suspected a niacin deficiency but 2 weeks on supplements and no real improvement, finally attempted to splint the leg however...
i have a 3 week old duckling with a suspected splayed leg. She tends to hobble but can still put weight on the leg but when sitting the leg tends to be pushed out behind her. We initially suspected niacin deficiency but no improvement over 2 weeks and have finally tried to splint the leg using...
