Oh, yes, the scratching lessons. We have studied the chicks today, and they are well into the art of scratching.

It's absolutely amazing to watch. They just know how to teach their chicks, to protect them and keep them warm. They are absolutely wonderfully made😍

@abpatchy 44 miracles 😍 Line breeding is quite common among chicken breeders. And many breeds are saved due to one or two small flocks and are strong, healthy breeds today. We have cleaned out the nesting box. There was one egg that didn't hatch. 10 chicks out of 11 eggs.

The chicks are hatching. So far we have counted 3 yellow and 6 black. Mama Persille is teaching them to eat and drink.

@abpatchy So sorry to hear about the chick with deformities. If it was just one out 44, it may be just a coincidence. Are all the chicks related?

@abpatchy so fun to actually watch the hatching. It is a little miracle every single time😍 We woke up to this sight , at least 1 chicken has hatched. Now we are waiting for the rest. Mama Persille is clearly saying; let me be alone, I'm busy.

My Hubby was just out to check the coop. At least one chicken has hatched tonight. This will be an exciting day😍 Now would be a good time to have a videocamera out there, but we don't.
