    I have 8 week7 babies. Any idea about these three? 2nd I’m sure is a rooster but 1 st one seems the same but not as red. Third one I hope is hen but friend said forked tail pointing down equals rooster. Has grey crest and under chin.

    Bresse sexing help please.

    My first hatched bantam cross has a red comb and starting to develop a red wattle under the chin. I am hoping for the yellow with caramel markings is a hen. The one on the left is an Amucana and I have no idea but is the first born of four. Hard to tell with these chickens.

    My Broody hatched one out of six eggs, broke one egg resulting in a mess for the other five, kicked one out, and pooped in her nest. I gave her hatched to the other mother who was hatching successfully, cleaned the eggs (probably shouldn't have?) then cleaned her nest and put in fresh hay. Now...

    How long are fertile eggs viable before they start to incubate?

    I took my rooster away about 10 days ago and there are about 11 eggs. My two hens are not really sitting on them. I am about to get another hen and hope they are that she might sit on them. What to do? will they still hatch if not sat upon in the interim?
