    Kittens with chickens... ?

Not quite sure where to post this, but here goes. I have an established flock of laying hens, guineas, and Muscovey Ducks. They all free range in the afternoons about 3-4 hours. Well, the ducks are out all the time now as they refuse to be cooped anymore and rarely leave the pond. My husband...

Finally they were still enough for pics, but they had to be bribed. So I am attempting to upload pics of the Whitings, one of the eggs we got yesterday and today 2/4, which I am giving the credit to the Dominiques and the RIRs. I'm also including a pic of the coop.

The pics I have are from September. I will attempt to get some if they will hold sstill long enough. :)

All the eggs I'm getting are from my Dominiques and Rhode Island Reds. Supposedly, all Whiting True Blues lay blue eggs. At 30 weeks they don't seem to be looking, or sounding, anything like Roos, although stranger things have happened. I bought them at 16 weeks as pullets.

The combs are red and healthy. The pictures I currently have are from September, so I will attempt to get some...

Hello! I'm fairly new to the backyard flock, having 10 hens, 3 Guineas, and 12 Muscovy ducks. Two of the chickens are Whiting True Blues that are approaching 30 weeks and have not started laying. Their clutch mates began laying at @ 24 weeks. Does anyone have any experience with them that they...

    What Breeds are these?

RE Whiting True Blue laying age... I have two that are approaching 30 weeks and have not laid yet. Anyone know what I can expect? Their clutch mates began laying at @ 24 weeks I believe. They are gorgeous, but I want eggs! :)

Chickens, Guineas, and Ducks! Oh, my!

I am fairly new to it all, but I dived in head first this May when I retired from my federal teaching job... two months before I decided to go back to work at the state level! I have a small flock of RIR, Easter Eggers, Dominiques, and Whiting True Blues (10 in all). Add to that the three...
