Laid an open egg now lethargic

She passed the rest!!! You were right!! I’m so relieved. I did give her an inj. of ABs because there was a small amount of blood on one corner. Hopefully she gets to rejoin the crew tomorrow and have a new bucket of calcium to feast from.

Oh and there is small amounts of poop passing. Nothing like her normal monstrosities.

Laid an open egg now lethargic

She’s been completely normal until all this happened right before dusk. She is obviously acting as though something is bothering her down there. I just saw her push like she was trying to push something out. I do not have her with food and water but I have tums. I have not had calcium...

Laid an open egg now lethargic

I don’t think there was more to shell?!? I think there was maybe another egg in the way so it couldn’t close? I can’t describe it. Her vent looked normal when we’re blow drying her but she definitely seems like she wants to do more?!

Laid an open egg now lethargic

Today is her 6 month birthday. She’s been laying for a month. She didn’t lay today, not abnormal for her. She was walking then laid this double yolk, open on one end flimsy shell mess and since then has been lethargic. I have her in an epsom salt soak, lubed her vent and felt a little inside...

    Swedish Flower Hen Thread

Hamiam: I hope that crested roo is called Grumpus - he looks so angry!! I am no help with your main question. I would have no problem with grey/nude legged birds. 3 of my 4 pullets have them. I just had to comment on Grumpus cuz he’s adorable!!

So I’ll see if anyone can tell now... I just want to know so bad and we can’t keep Roos. They are about 10 wks but I wouldn’t be surprised if the two larger multi colored ones are a smidge older then the two more solid base color ones. I have 2 group shots then a close up of the Black based...

Darn it. I was hoping I could tell with combs. I guess we’ll keep waiting and loving them. We just had to rehome our Salmon Faverolle cockerels and that was so hard to do!!!

I love these guys!! Granted I am very, VERY new to chicken keeping but these littles are so friendly. I needed 1 more chicken to round out my backyard flock of 4.... so I won an auction for 10 Swedish Flower Hen chicks, plus extras and it was BOGO. 24 chicks later I sold 3 groups of 6 locally...

    Chick with hurt toe

This makes me feel so much better! I’m used to dog and cat injuries and ailments where this would need ABs. It’s time for his soak tonight. The kids were calling him penguin so I looked up famous penguin names and there is a series of books about Tacky the penguin. I told him he was Tacky to...

    Chick with hurt toe

It would be awesome if his little body would just let it fall off. I just hate the swelling and worry that the infection will spread.

    Chick with hurt toe

I received 24 chicks the other day and most are doing well. I have one with curled toes but everyone is getting vitamins so I’m monitoring for now. Another has a degloving injury to a toe. I spray vetricyin twice a day and have soaked in chlorhex. It is swollen and he limps on it but is eating...
