    Chicks picking/eating their feathers

Yes, my chicks have a house they can go into to get out of the weather. I don't have a heat lamp in with them anymore, but I can always put it back in there.

    Chicks picking/eating their feathers

The picture I took is of one of the worst chick I saw. They all don't look that bad, but most of them have some sort of feather loss. They also have plenty of room to run around in an outside pen.

    Chicks picking/eating their feathers

I am feeding them GMO free chick starter that is made at a local farm. It is supposed to be high quality feed. I do have a good many chicks right now, around 50. Not sure why this is happening .... could it be the feed or just them picking on each other??? I need to get this figured out.

HELP! Facial Swelling, Sneezing, Coughing, Raspy, Nose Discharge, Watery Eyes and Lethargic .... But NO Smell. I don't think we are fighting infectious coryza because there is no smell coming from any of the chickens, but whatever it is, it is VERY contagious. Our once flock of 50 healthy...

Red Sexlink, Production Red, Rhode Island or, New Hampshire

[/IMG] Got these as 5 month old red sexlink pullets. The guy we bought them from said he got them as chicks from Southern States. There is not a white feather on any of the 18 I got. Trying to figure out what breed of red chicken they could be. ..... any thoughts?
