    We don't have any preference to the species, but one that is gentle and nice / docile might be preferred because ultimately it's a pet chicken.

    For my kids as pet. 1 is enough, but if you have more, we may be able to take more. We live in Fairfield country CT. So we prefer they are hardy enough to adapt to the cold New England weather in the winter - we may not bring them in during the winter every evening. Thanks, J
