From what I understand, if you got them from just a local feed store, 99.9999999999999% of the time they arnt pure. They will be crosses or EEs... Hatcheries don't often carry pure stock of the breed.

Dont test your water if you are not completly OK with having it caped off. If the lab shows ANY amount of comtaminants, even one that can be easily fixed with a lil' bleach, they will send someone out to permantly cap your well, even if humans arn't drinking from/using it. Our farm neighbor...
