I guess I would ask, what's wrong with a dog, or cat, or ferret, or rabbit. They all make great pets and are much more suited to living inside. As someone who has had all these pets, and just now got chickens, I can say that chickens make the worst indoor pets of them all. Sooooooooo muchhhhhhhh...
The coop is in progress ... we're a little behind on that unfortunately. But I'm hoping to get it up by the time they are about 4 weeks old or so. And we have a 'playpen' sorta thing set up in the back yard so we can start getting them some outside time next week!
