I have her isolated from the others in hopes of preventing spread, but I do understand there will always be risks. Thank you, I will attempt that. Each day she seems healthier but still some symptoms remain which is what has me stumped.

Finally got a good video!

Thank you so much. I managed a longer video - of course when you want to capture something they stop doing it. She’s not making noise here, but the gaping is the same. It reminds me of when chickens get hot, but it’s intermittent. When she’s scratching around it doesn’t occur.

She seems to be gaping as well outside the crowing, though? I’m honestly thinking it’s some sort of general defect and she’s just an odd hen…but then the paranoid side of me is all AVIAN FLU.

She’s a rescue and I’m very confused. It’s almost like she’s trying to crow but lays eggs?! Occasional sneezing. Eats, drinks, preens all normally. I’ll be taking her to the vet Tuesday but we have no avian specialists, so I’d love some clues to point them in the right direction.
