HI,
Is this the best place to ask about rabbits here? Did Nifty ever setup a separate place for Rabbits?
I have a Rex Castor buck that I was thinking about breading to a Californian doe.
Is this a good idea for meat rabbits or should I stick with one bread?
Thanks

Glad I caught your post, as I was reading I was getting ready to tell the OP that the caller broke the law. He is lucky the OP did not report him.
The neighbor did not break the law. Let's not turn this into something it isn't. The neighbor picked up the phone to discuss pricing. That...

Yes.

Although, I think they pick much easier if you let them bleed as opposed to taking the head clean off.

There is no dilemma what so ever here.
If you consort with him in the manner you describe, what your doing is illegal.
Under section 1 of the Sherman anti trust act Price Fixing can be prosecuted at a FELONY.

Hi,
I'm new to ducks. I have the ducklings I just got in with a standard chicken type waterer from TSC. They seem to be drinking from it, they make a funny noise when they drink. Is this adequate until they get larger or do they need deeper water now?
Thanks

Depending on how well it gets flowing, sometimes they seem to take a while to die. They can thrash about for a while. Hard to say if the chicken minds or not and at what point of blood loss they are unconscious. Also if your in a hurry, no doubt, removing the head is fastest, but I...
Thank you both for the suggestions, I will look for that brand. I did find duck starter at the coop. So I know I can get it. I got the impression that ducks were even less picky with there food than chickens, is that wrong?
Thanks

HI,
I have 12 ducks I have to pick up today, just hatched. 6 rouens and 6 pekins.
I'd been reading this duck forum and have learn some. I've successfully raised chicks.
The main question I have. From fairly early on, I switch my chicks off of chicken kibble (starter) and put them on my...

I bought mine on amazon at a christmas time gold box special for $70, but I would say it is easily worth the $150 to have really sharp knives. They make less expensive sharpeners as well, which might work just fine, I just don't have personal experience with them.

20 birds is really only a few hours of work, even your first time. I would not suggest you take the time to rent / borrow a plucker unless your planing on doing alot more birds than that.

I use this knife sharpener:

I did get a Henkle $110 knife also. But I have found, even with cheap knives ($20 Chicago cutlery), once I have a knife sharpened properly, it takes about as much effort to cut a head clean off as it does to cut through a...
