Hey!
Probably about 2 weeks ago my 8 month old barred rock hen started sneezing from time to time. Mostly when feeding especially when I’m throwing in treats and she’s eating as fast as possible. She will sneeze or wheeze (no discharge from the nose or mouth).. mouth breath for a second and...
I added 2 Easter eggers to the flock , they will be 27 weeks this Saturday. Very timid and hard to get close to. I got them at 16 weeks of age.
However this one appears to have no comb at all, no redness to be seen anywhere? Neither one is laying yet.
Thoughts????
The first picture is...
Thanks
They do have lots of head room above roosts, it must have been caused by another hen. And as for the frostbite, Their coop is very dry and has ventilation at the top. I don’t even keep their waterer inside the coop for risk of it spilling

Should mention that my youngest laying hen does sometimes get picked on or chased away by the highest hen in the pecking order and if she was in the nest box when the boss came to lay it’s quite possible she may have gotten cornered and pecked
Went out this afternoon to collect eggs, noticed immediately my youngest hen had a cut on her comb and her head was damp from the blood, then noticed it must have happened in the nest box because there is blood everywhere inside and over the egg
( possibly a fight over the nesting box?).
And...
Only change I can think of was a switch in feed. We were feeding them pullet grower with a side dish of oyster shells. Then made the switch to layer feed ( wife accidentally bought layer feed instead of grower)
No biggie, definitely shouldn’t stop laying?
Other then that nothing has changed
All 3 chickens started laying around 22 weeks. They laid pretty consistently for 7ish weeks.
then it just stopped been about 10 days sense we have seen an egg
Fall is upon us and the days are getting shorter and the weather is getting much cooler
( Canadian)
Possibly a short break preparing...
My 14/15 week old EE has yet to crow? Normal???
These 2 are in with 3, 23 week old laying hens.
the EE is very timid and frightful of the older hens. Not really any bullying or pecking going on tho.
