I found that one of my girls has an injured comb. Not bad but there is some specks of blood on the straw. She seems fine. I’m just wondering if I need to do a topical ointment treatment or leave it alone for now. I’m not able to isolate her which I know is the best thing but it’s not possible.

I have sand in the coop and love it. So easy to loop clean But. It’s cold. As winter is approaching I’m wondering if I should add a layer of shavings or straw on top of the sand
I have a small coop with a 4’x4’ flat board perch area plus a 2”x4” perch. They prefer the flat board surface as it allows them to look out of a small window. I clean it everyday. Just wondering if this is healthy for them.
