Yes. And so far it’s been reading within 1% so nothing to be too concerned over. I was able to take a small piece of duct tape and fold it in half just to keep it from sealing tight and so far it’s been holding right at 67%. Temp has remained the same. I feel more comfortable now. Last spring...
Hey everyone. Got a quick question. I have some duck eggs in the incubator (NR360) that went into lockdown yesterday. I opened the vent as far as it will go but once I opened and filled the B port with water the humidity spiked to 78. Ideally I’m shooting for about 65% but even after pulling...
Thanks for the replies and info. This is our first year hatching ducks and only the second time trying this year. The first set only one hatched but I figured it was because I didn’t have the right turner for the incubator and they just didn’t get turned enough at the start. Every place I...
Need help figuring out what we are doing wrong. This is the first year hatching pekin ducks. The first attempt we set 8 eggs only 1 hatched. This time we set 7 and none hatched. We are using the NR360 temp at 99.5. Humidity was held between 55-60% until lockdown then held at 80%. This time...
Awe so sorry you lost one. That was my worry. Either acting too fast or not fast enough and losing the little one either way. But after a lot of waiting the little bugger finally busted out on its own.
No veins that I could see. Even looked thru the hole and everything looks good. The little bugger is chirping away. And looks like it’s trying to zip around but just seems to be struggling
Bill is visible if I pull back the membrane a bit. I’ll check for veins. I’m used to chickens. The pip and an hour later Ta Da! A little floof stumbling around 😂
Ok humidity has been at 80% give it take a couple points due to weather and refilling the water. I am using the NR360 and do have a smaller flashlight. Never was a fan of the built in light
They were set in the incubator on April 6 so this would be day 28? Not much progress made today but the pip is getting a bit bigger. I can hear the duckling chirping/clicking and if I move the membrane a bit I can see it moving around too. I’ll get another pic shortly and post it
Woke up this morning to a little more progress. But not much. The little bugger is very active in there. The egg is constantly wiggling. Can’t hear anything though. But part of that is because of the other 30 chicks just feet away causing a ruckus and my hearing isn’t the best to begin with...
