    Our Texas-sized coop

I love the run and coop, very well done. Suggestions..... If you are having predator problems I would add at least one strand of electric wire to the bottom 18" of the outside of the coop. With small kids you can use a photo eye and or timer so it goes on only when you want it (when the children...

Our coop and run (lots of pictures!)*new pic on post#13

I agree raise the coop, but I would also suggest puttting the coop outside the run! Give the chickens more room when the reach adulthood, plus it will make it so much easier to get your eggs out when it is raised and outside the run. We used cement blocks, stacked in each corner to raise ours up...

Favorite breed for mini farm/ homestead?

Our Barred Rocks get testy I would suggest Buff Orp., much mellower and easier to dress with the light feathers.

    Feeding Oats To Geese

We add rolled oats to our Tufted Roman Flock's diet every three days, just a scoop or two and they love it! We also add sweet feed for a special treat and they have never not finished either. The flock loves to eat oats in the field as well, so we make sure we plant an extra patch just for the...
