    Chick not growing feathers.... IDEAS?

    I have a 2 week old chick that still has yet to start getting her feathers. My other chicks her same age are all mostly feathered on their wings and getting their tail feathers in. I'm not sure if it's just the type of breed she is or if something else is going on. Any one have any ideas on why?

    Insulation in the coop???

    Do we need to insulate our chicken coop??? We live in Central Kansas where it's windy almost all the time; the summers are scorching hot (up to 110+ heat index) and the winters are cold (down to -30 roughly).

    What type of feed?

    My chicks will arrive around the 10th of Feb. I am having them vaccinated for Merek's from the hatchery. Do I need to feed them medicated Chick starter feed or non-medicated?

    Thanks for the advice good thing we're still in the beginning stages of building and still have a few weeks before the chicks will even arrive but, we will be brooding them inside until they're ready to be moved to the coop.
