About 3 weeks ago, I had a chicken get picked up by a bobcat, and torn up pretty good, Now that the holes have healed, I have noticed that she only uses 1 leg, and uses the knee of her other leg to hold herself up. Meanwhile, the foot kinda sits there, one two is help upward at a strange angle...
I am hearing that many butcher Cornish rocks at six weeks, but mine right now are passed that age into 3 months . They still weight about 2 pounds. Where is the huge meat bird I've heard about? Any ideas?
2 weeks ago, one chicken got attacked by a dog, I had to stitch her face and keep cleaning wounds on her neck for a bit. She has healed and is back with the flock, but today I noticed her holding her wing kinda funny, so I looked at it, and come to find out, her wing had been broken, at least...
Apparently its not possible for me to take a clear picture, but here is the roost and nesting boxes. The roost is about 3.5 feet off the ground, so possibly I could do some type of covered house for the ducks to sleep/lay in. But how do I keep the chickens from going in there/laying in there...
Hey BYC! I have recently gotten 4 khaki cambell ducks to go along with 6 Cornish rocks. My Coop is probably bigger than the image says, around 5 x 7 actually but you get the picture. My nesting boxes are these.
they whole unit is about 2.5 feet tall and the bottom railing is about at knee level...
I believe they are eating now, but the little guys keep playing in their water and getting it all over!! When will they be old enough to just put a bowl of water in their for them to play in?
I think someone figured it out. After the first night there was water splashed all over and some little wet dents in the feed. Hopefully the all get the memo! will post more info on what they are doing tonight
Just today got 4 ducklings from the TS. been a few hours now,and the haven't eaten or drank anything that I have seen. They just huddle in the corner and sleep. Help?
