Thank you so much for your reply. Very interesting and something I will take a look at. Just to let you know, there was no membrane, just the white and the yoke. Oyster shell is fed separately. It's only in this one chicken. Looking at some dietary issues as well as being a new layer...

    Egg laying problem

A friend has chickens and they are about 8 months old. One of them lays an "egg" that only has the white and the yolk. Sometimes the membrane will be with yolk, but I was wondering what might cause this and if anyone had any ideas how to help the chicken lay fully develop eggs. They are being...

I was reading that this can be placed in his water bowl, or should you just give it to him orally?

    Sick Turkey

I'm very sorry I didn't respond earlier, I don't get on this site as often as I should. The vet, who was a bird specialist, was unable to identify and labeled it "undetermined virus". The bottom line is we had to put him to sleep. He just would not respond to any of our efforts and it wasn't...

    Sick Turkey...HELP

Yes and it was negative. Body, Skeleton, all were good; the only thing the vet could find was that his white count was elevated which is why he put him on antibiotics. The vet is a bird specialist.

I have three different groups of chickens (and two turkeys) that we own. The first group has grown up and are producing eggs everyday. The second group which included a small, male turkey. This group has started growing up and are teenagers now. When we let them into the area with the older...
