    I have 3 full grown hen's and have nothing has changed recently. All summer long they would go from the enclosed run up and into the coop at night and all I had to do was go out and shut to the door/let them out in the morning.... recently, last 7 days or so when I go out to shut the coop...

    Thanks alot. The bar your seeing in the one photo in front of the nesting boxes isnt a roosting bar. Its sits about 2 inches below the front of the boxes simple to act as a step or a hopping point for them to get in and out of the boxes. What you dont see is on the other side of the coop box...

    Yea thanks. My coop is on top of an old concrete slab and filled with construction sand so I'm not so worried about anything digging in just the integrity of my chicken wire is my main concern

    I am in rural Pennsylvania and we have a good bit of coyotes, fox, and even bear. I luckily havnt had issues yet but your right about reinforcing it more.

    Thank you. I looked into premade as well but couldn't fathom spending the money. I managed to build this with a lot of left over wood I already had for less than $350.

    Coop is roughly 4x5 and about 5 foot standing space inside for the girls. Leaving about 3 foot run underneath the coop.

    Total coop is 10x5. Metal roof is 8x12. It's made up of 4 sheets of 3x8 from Lowes.

    Pictures aren't quite the most up to date. I have all those top sections closed off now. As for using a heavier wire, I just never thought I would need it. This is my first time with chickens and didn't know the regular stuff wasnt sufficient. Havnt had any issues yet..... I'll look into...
