    Wheaten Marans

When I purchased the eggs I was told there was Marans, BLRW's, EE's and Silver Laced Chochin/ Maran mix ( cochin hen and maran rooster). These were all yellow/cream when hatched. The RLBW's are easy to distinguish. The EE's all have green legs so that leaves Marans or cochin mix.

    Wheaten Marans

I have 3 6wk old Wheaten Maran chicks. A few weeks ago I thought I had 2 pullets and a cockerel. Are the 2 even Wheaten Marans? What do you guys think.

    27th day under the hens

SO! yesterday was day 26 and still nothing. I went out to check one last time before I clear out the nest and send my 2 ladies packing but the rain was coming down so badly I decided to wait til after work today. I was kinda putting it off because my 3 yr old has been excited to see some baby...

I was told this was the Rooster. One of these may have been the Hen which laid them.

Not Sure If You've Got A Pullet Or Cockerel? Click Here! Thread 2

This is a group of mixed chicks I have that some may possibly been hatched from a BSL. From the looks of the the one posted earlier is it safe to say this is a pullet BSL mix? The only reason im unsure its a pullet is because how RED the little spot on the comb is. The picture doesn't show it...

This one has me 2nd guessing

6.5 week old mixed breed. Im thinking pullet because of the yellow on the comb but I fear its a cockeral because the wattles are pretty red. The comb and wattles are just slightly larger than another of the same mix... unlike the obvious roo in the 4th pic.

Can you tell what breed a chick is when they are mixed? Unknown rooster

Last, but not least, is my 3 1/2 year olds favorite. This one started out black and grey has now became almost all black but has feathers with brown streaks on its chest. Really hope this one is a hen. #8

Can you tell what breed a chick is when they are mixed? Unknown rooster

These next 2 chicks have an amazing textured look to their feathers. Just like #2 and 3, I am very excited to see what they will look like full grown. #6 #7 The person I got all my chicks from sent me pictures of the hens and the rooster she owns. This hen may be...

Can you tell what breed a chick is when they are mixed? Unknown rooster

These 2 will most likely be getting rehomed. #4s comb isnt getting any redder in the last few weeks so still unknown on that one, 99.9% sure 5 is a roo. These 2 feathers are different then the rest. They feel like they look... #4 #5

#2 Love this birds colors. Hoping the grey undertones show beneath the red as she gets older.

Can you tell what breed a chick is when they are mixed? Unknown rooster

Wanted to post some updated pics of the chicks just to show the changes they have went through in the last month. Didnt know if I should start a new thread or just piggyback on this one...obviously I decided to piggyback. Not really concerned about the breeds in which they came from any longer...

    Sexing unknown breed,

Have a few chicks I am unsure of. If these are roosters I will be 6/8 roos. They have some color on their wattles but very small combs. Does pink wattles at 4 weeks mean cockerel for sure? #1 Unknow mix breed. The camera makes the comb and wattles look a darker red than they are. They are...

Are the baby chicks suppose to sleep like this?

This has to be a TROLL. There is no way this person could be serious.
