    Broody duck

Thankyou, I lured her off nest with peas and took them but I left her a couple. If they hatch then great, we could keep them, I just thought she'd feel better having a few left. I candled the ones I took and they hadn't developed so I dont feel too guilty x

    Broody duck

I feel like this is the best choice, I would love for her to hatch a couple but shes collected far more than we could manage. Will she be upset for long? X

I didnt know you could feed the ducks their eggs, I'd live to give them to people but no one I know wants to eat duck eggs x

    Broody duck

Hi, so I'll start with the backstory, I wanted 3 ducks, 2 girls and 1 boy...I ended up with 2 boys and a girl, so I planned to add another girl. 4 ducks is very much my limit sue to space. Unfortunately we lost a boy to a fox in december so I got 2 sexed girls. One quacks, the other chirps so...

    Bad feathers?

Thank you! This was in her old pen which we had to move them from because it's always this muddy, however the new pen wasn't fox proof and we lost one last week. Normally they free range around the nice grass during the day but I'm super paranoid about the fox coming back so we put them back in...

    Bad feathers?

Hi, I always thought Betty was just dirty from where the boys mount her and the mud had stained her pretty white feathers. But someone recently mentioned wet feather, I didnt even know it was a thing and now I'm unsure whether betty is just dirty or if she needs any special care? The bottom...

What are your Spring 2021 hatching plans?

Oh that's a shame, I was hoping one would be ok with mum duck, we dont have room for lots of ducks. I dont expect her to sit on any to be honest, apparently they are not good at it so it's just wishful thinking any way x

    Missing ducks

You might not be wrong, our dog used to go crazy for them when they were ducklings and chirping around, now they're adults and quack shes fantastic with them. Could you leave them out with a netting over the top if its crows? We're in england so I might be completely off but my partner asked...

Predators Might Get Worse--SW United States

I've put the surviving ducks back in their old house at night which I think/hope is foxproof so it will be difficult to tell if it comes back. I've also added strings covered in tin cans and bells with shiny things on, got my boys to pee round the garden and have the dog on duck duty during the...
