Glad to hear it! It's kind of a tough decision, which breeds to get. Especially because we're only allowed 6. I know 2 or 3 will be the ameracaunas, 1 will be polish, and I'm torn between the other few. I'll probably just get what looks good at the chicken swap.
They're easy to take care of, yes...but it HURTS getting stung, I tell you. I've been afraid to do my beekeeping duties because I got stung. Once. (Through my jeans) What a baby, I know. I haven't gotten honey yet, as we need to leave what they made for them over the winter, but a huge plus...
How am I not going to watch them all day long?? We're getting a Polish, too, just for entertainment. I don't even care if she ever lays an egg, ha ha..as long as she runs around with that fluff on her head.
Hi, everyone! My name is Jeneane, I live near Denver, Colorado, and we're getting chickens in the spring. My grandmother in Greece has a full homestead, and ever since I was very young, in the back of my mind, I've wanted one of my own.
I've been married for almost 10 years and my husband...
HI, there! I am also in Denver..(well, Centennial) and am also a beekeeper. Started with bees because we couldn't have chickens yet. :) We're getting finally chickens in the spring. So excited I could pee my pants. Good luck with everything!
