Hello well 2 days ago, we were watching the chickens from the window when we noticed one of the chickens (Betty) randomly lay an egg outside of the chicken house?! but it had no shell, it was just the membrane!
Is there any particular reason for this? they free range most of the day + we give...

The skirt of chicken wire would work (so that it is lying on the ground a bit), our pen fence is dug partly underground, so a fox would have to dig very far to get under! another way to deter foxes if you have a willing family member that is, is to urinate around the coop, foxes hate it! hey...
