    Bullying and chicken jail questions

Thanks - I did find and read this article as part of my forums search before posting my question. My main question for this aspect was timing — sequester Adelaide first? Or start with Carlotta and see if the behavior improves without Carlotta there to stir up trouble? Im also wondering about...

    Bullying and chicken jail questions

Hello chicken experts! I did a few forum searches to see if I could find the answer to these questions, but was unsuccessful in figuring out the specific answer I need. I have four hens that are just shy of a year and a half old. They were sleeping in a coop that was too small to them for too...

    Daphne isn’t well.

Her crop was empty and feels completely normal. It’s rainy here today, so it’s harder to watch her behavior - they all tend to hide under the deck to stay dry. She did come out with her sisters for scratch, and ate some of it. That’s an encouraging sign… There isn’t anywhere locally that...

    Daphne isn’t well.

They’re on a grower blend from my local feed store - only Carlotta is laying, and she just layed her first egg on Monday.

    Daphne isn’t well.

Her poop is runny, full of mucous, and not much solid in there. 2 days ago, it was also red, which is what freaked me out the most. It’s pretty green now (?). Her crop feels normal - not full and impacted. She ate meal worms from my hand earlier, but didn’t want any scratch. I’m not sure she’s...

    Daphne isn’t well.

The only Corid I can find online is labeled for calves. Where can I find what I need for my chickens?

    Daphne isn’t well.

All they had at my local feed store was a capsule with powdered fenbendazole. They recommended I mix in some medicated chick starter feed to get amprolium into them also, in case it’s coccidiosis. Dosage is 1 capsule per 4-7 lbs of body weight, and that’s what I put on the bread pieces. I added...

    Daphne isn’t well.

There were signs of worms in somebody’s droppings, so I got some medication, and was able to get a dose into my other three girls using treats, but my RIR Daphne wasn’t having any of it. So I set up an isolation tank for her today to try and get the meds into her as well, because she’s been less...

    Please help confirm the sexes?

Thanks! Since they’re our first 4 chickens, we went with ABCD… seemed like a fun tradition to start 😊

    Please help confirm the sexes?

Thank you (and the others who answered!) for the help, and the welcome! 😊

    Please help confirm the sexes?

I hope you’re right that they’re all pullets! 🤞🏻 Roosters are illegal in Seattle, so if any turn out to be cockerels I’ll need to re-home them somehow.

    Please help confirm the sexes?

Yes - half leghorn, and has very round-ended, straight, blunt tail feathers. The one I’m suspicious of is #4, with the pointed tail feathers.

    Please help confirm the sexes?

Hello! I have 4 young chickens I was hoping you could help confirm the sexes of. They were all born April 22, and are 13 weeks old. I have had them since May 2. #1 - Adelaide - Easter Egger #2 - Bellatrix - California White #3 - Carlotta - Rhode Island Red #4 - Daphne - R. I. Red

    New chicken mama!

Hello, fellow chicken lovers! I’m new to the forums, and to chicken keeping. (1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? I picked up my first chicks on May 2 2021. (2) How many chickens do you have right now? I have 4 (3) What breeds do you have? I have 2 Rhode Island...
