    HELP! Chick with twisted leg.

I hatched a silkie showgirl five days ago and her leg appeared to be splayed. I hobbled her like I normally do for spraddle and splay leg. The next day, I unbanded her to check progress and it was not any better. In fact, the hip joint was swollen and it appeared that her leg was twisting out to...

    Need help identifying this rooster

The original seller contacted me back and said he’s a satin. She was doing “projects” at the time for colorations. So he is not a finished satin.

    Need help identifying this rooster

He has fathered 23 chicks so far and all have been silkies. One was a naked neck. One was a frizzle. I contacted the breeder and she said he’s a satin silkie. I have no clue what that means but I’m about to google lol. I just have regular silkies. Aside from his naked neck chick I kept

    Need help identifying this rooster

They said they just had silkies. I am just going to sell the chicks as silkie mixes I think. He is clearly not just silkie. Still an amazing roo. He is a very sweet boy.

    Need help identifying this rooster

This is my baby Jude. I hatched him myself about two years ago. I purchased the eggs online from a Silkie farm. He had a sister who looked like a straight silkie. But Jude…well he’s unique. He has the whole five toe thing but to me, he looks nothing like a Silkie. From his coloring to his...

HELP!!! Egg has gone unpipped for 36 hours after others all hatched!!! Still alive.

The blood vessels look pretty dry. It’s the chewing motion I’m really concerned with because I see that means it’s not done absorbing the yolk. I just cannot see leaving it in there much longer. It keeps trying to push out and it’s breaking my heart

HELP!!! Egg has gone unpipped for 36 hours after others all hatched!!! Still alive.

The blood vessels seem to be drying up, but it is still doing the chewing motion with its mouth.

HELP!!! Egg has gone unpipped for 36 hours after others all hatched!!! Still alive.

It’s breathing still. Veins look a little wet still. It’s not cheeping that much. But breathing well. We put coconut oil on the membrane to keep it from drying out. Upped the humidity. We figured it will likely need some encouragement to leave the shell completely when it’s done absorbing...

HELP!!! Egg has gone unpipped for 36 hours after others all hatched!!! Still alive.

We did that and found it’s beak. It couldn’t pip because it has a deformed beak. The top part is half the size of the bottom part. It’s got a breathing hole now and it is breathing. We are going to leave it to absorb the yolk all the way and then will likely have to assist more.
