    How common is it for a chicken to hatch their eggs? My red comet gets broody and upset when I take them, I almost feel bad. Is there any way she could raise chicks without an incubator?

    That's exciting! He had pasty butt so bad he almost didn't make it when I got him so I've always had a soft spot for him. I'm glad him being a Cockerel won't make him hate me hahah

    The Brahma seems to genuinely like being held and pet? Is that typical for a Cockerel?

    But the blue looks like a female? They're four, almost five months I believe. The rural king told me they were a week when I got them but I learned on here yesterday that may not have been the case.

    I was afraid of that. I keep them inside in a spare room that's been chicken-proofed at night, and the white one likes to perch on top of a desk.

    I did notice that the other chicks I had that were a bit younger than her went through the cycles of growing and losing their feathers a couple times quicker than she did

    That's so sad but wouldn't surprise me. They were feeding on a chick that had already passed which was what prompted me to buy the rest.

    I actually keep them inside at night to avoid predation and she laid them both inside, in a very open spot where I'm sure they weren't at the day before. That was my first thought aswell but I check in on them multiple times at night and in the morning.

    I've only had her for three months and she didn't have feathers when I got her so I don't think she could be that old💙

    I'm not positive, this is my first time owning chickens and I got her from rural king where they knew just about as much as I did. Would never buy from them again but hated seeing these babies in bins dying. From the charts I found online though she looked to be a week when I got her.
