    Integration

Ok, thanks. Would it be best to integrate the Littles all together in a few weeks first?

    Integration

I have chicks that hatched 4/22, so they are almost 6 weeks old. I just acquired 2 two week old chicks. Should I keep the older girls indoors a little longer and integrate these two groups together before integrating with my older hens outside?

Thanks for the info, I really hope this doesn't happen again. I'm going to be nervous every time I check on them for awhile:(

    New Hampshire!

Does anyone in Southern New Hampshire or Northern Massachusetts have an extra blue or green layer female chick they'dbe willing to sell? I have 6 two week old chicks, but just lost my Easter egger hen and don't really have the setup to order another large quantity. I would rather add 1 or 2 to...

1 year old hen passed suddenly

I'm sorry, it's so sad. Especially when they are normal, happy chickens the day before.

1 year old hen passed suddenly

Our beloved Easter egger, exactly 1 year old, was dead on her back this morning in the run. She was eating and drinking normally last night and had laid an egg during the day. What could cause sudden death in a young hen? Pen is predator proof, and knock on wood, we have not had predator...

    6 New chickies

We have ducks too! Are they making loud quacking noises, or do they sound like they have laryngitis?

    6 New chickies

All girls. 1 speckled sussex, 1 lavender orpington, 1 blue australorp, 1 speckeldy (our rare surprise chick), and 2 barred rocks (1 was extra at no charge) Orpingtons and Easter Eggers are good choices. We have those too, and we've been getting an egg a day from them, even through the winter.

    Medicated feed

Hello everyone:) We will be receiving our new chicks from Mt. Healthy at the end of next month. We also have ducks and 8 chickens we purchased from TS last year. I was wondering if anyone could share some advice on whether we should feed our new babies medicated feed? Our other chicks were...

    Khaki Campbell vs Golden Layer

I have one or each. They are both pretty skittish. The Golden is bigger in size, and her eggs are slightly bigger, and I believe they lay about the same amount of eggs.
