Thank you for all your help but one of the ducklings died Saturday and when I looked inside the egg almost all of the yolk was still there. The other detached all the way Sunday and was very week and I gave it electrolyts with vitamins and I thought she had a chance but then she passed...
One baby still hanging in there. detached lastnight and has a big round ring around her belly. I cant get her to drink the electrolytes. What do I do now? she is crawling around and holding her head up.
Thank you skittlez. one is now most of the way ot if the egg but I think I still see the yolk say attched inside and there us blood vessels on the shell. The other is styled balled up in the egg and still has egg white around him. I am trying to be patient but it is hard because it is day 29!
Have you ever had or heard of call ducks taking this long to hatch day 28 now looks like it could be 29. These are white snowy calls. How often though out the night should I wake up to moisten the eggs? Thank you
I have, since yesterday, been talked through helping my baby calls out of the shell but now everyone has logged off and I don't know what to do next. Here is a picture I took about an hour ago. The one on the right is starting to be less active but there is still blood when I try to break away...
The one in the picture to the right his breathing is starting to slow down. What do I do? When I try to break more of the shell off it starts to bleed. I am freaking out and feeling helpless. I feel like if I don't get him out he will die and if I do he will bleed to death. HELP HELP PLEASE
I figured it out here is a pict taken 30 min ago.
One on the left is the one with alot of what appears to be yolk. They are still moving and occasionally peeping.
I was going to post am updated pict but it is telling me my uploads are disabled and I have 0% of 10mb cause. I deleted the last pict. Really wanted to let you guys see what they look like now so you might have a better idea.
Omg this is crazy. One of the ducks still has alot of fluid in the egg and looks like blood vessels still. The others eyes still wont open. Is it possible this is a very slow hatch? Are the eyes supposed to be closed? Im sure about the date they were set may 20th at 8:00pm mst.
Ok I peeled back the shell and started working on the membain. Started to bleed so i stopped. tried to pull out by beak but they just fall right back into the same position what next
Well I bought them on Ebay from a power seller with 100% feedback score and she sold them to me as "6+ Pure White Bantam Call Duck Hatching Eggs NPIP" and had picts of the adults So I sure hope so. Here is the link on ebay...
Yes I put them in at 8:00 pm Mountain Time (Denver) Friday the 20th. I cant hurt their neck can I? I'm not sure if all the yolk is absorbed because there is a lot of clear snot looking stuff around them but they are opening and closing there beaks.
Electrolytes like pedialite? How do I pull there head out? With my fingers? I have some grow gel that I ordered for my other ducklings. Should I give them that? Do I break away the shell more?
