Its just been a bad summer
First, our first nest was abandoned, I saved one chick, whose growing really well, but the rest of the eggs were... eaten by the chickens.
Now, one egg was away from the second nest, and it was cracked, bad. There's blood, and some of the liquid leaked out. The baby...
I first dealt with pox when we got our very first chickens, and we took care of it immediately by taking the three affected to the vet. Now, sadly, the vet is closed on the weekends, so I want to do as much as I can before I can take them.
Since vaccinating our first flock, we've added some new...
I actually bought 5 "hens" three were roosters. They get along fine, and then we got 4 "hens" two were roosters. They get along fine. Maybe I'm just lucky, but in my experience, when you get them young, the rest will turn out okay. Once the hormones kick in, they may spar, then they form a...

Thank you!
Thats surprising, to me at least, I was expecting that the lil'guy would be having a bad day! He lets the hens walk all over him, literary . Building a new pen would be fun, we'll just see how set the rest of the family is on these roosters. Do you think the pen could still allow...
I currently have 5 young, teenager chickens, one being a rooster. I wanted to get another beautiful, halfblind, older rooster from a local sanctuary. I might be getting his friend whos completely blind too. These guys are fully grown roosters, and I'm a little weary of how to introduce them to...
