I haven't dewormed. There seems to be a lot of different opinions on how to do it. What do people recommend? This is a young hen (less than a year old).
I have two ~9 month old White Bresse hens I keep in a chicken tractor and let range during the day. One I have never had a problem with, and one has had a perpetually soiled vent. She has never seemed sick; she runs around, flies up to roost, hangs with the other hen, etc. although I don't think...
She hasn't been picked on since I took them home. It could have happened at the breeder?
Anyways these feathers still don't seem to be growing back. Will it take until she molts? Is this anything I should be worried about? Thanks.
Hi all, I got a few Bresse pullets a few weeks ago. One of them had bald (or less-feathered spots where I can see her skin) spots and I thought she might grow new feathers but so far no dice. Is this an issue, and if so, is there a remedy? Thanks!
I'm set to pick up 4 Rhode Island Red pullets this weekend, which is a bit earlier than I had hoped as I raise my birds in a suscovitch style chicken tractor--no coop or anyting. Our weather is in the 60s for the next 10 days, but lows dip into the 30s. Is this too low to immediately introduce...
I would HIGHLY recommend using the pneumatic stapler on your mesh as he recommended. A bobcat (I assume) just got my two layers a few days ago. Ripped a whole bunch of the hardware cloth right off the wood.
I used PVC instead of EMT on my suscovich tractor, has had no problem. Survived getting flipped in 60 mph winds one time (thankfully no birds in it at that point).
