    Bumble foot question

Thank you! That is what I've been doing. Such a relief as I know it was very painful for her. I would hate to put her through that again! She does seem to be moving around much better and getting back to her old self. I appreciate the reassurance that I'm doing the right thing. 😊

    Bumble foot question

It's my first time dealing with bumble foot so any help/advice is appreciated. I did epsom soaks, applied veteracin plus, prid and antibiotic ointment for almost two weeks. The scab loosened up and I got the kernel out almost a week ago. I've been cleaning her wound and applying antibiotic...

    Water belly

She's almost a year and a half. I'm not sure if she's missing feathers in that area or if the swelling is making it look like she is

    Water belly

My GLW has a large squishy bump below her vent. Pics are attached. She's eating, laying and acting completely normal otherwise. I noticed it when I gave her a bath yesterday to wash off a lot of poop that was stuck in her feathers. Could it be water belly?

    Broody mama raising adopted chicks

Thank you so much! I love watching them with her....and you're right...she's so protective...when I peek in the check on them she sounds like a dinosaur! 😂 They will probably be fine with the others.

    Broody mama raising adopted chicks

I have a buff who's been broody three times since late fall, so I gave in and got her some babies yesterday. She took them almost immediately and seems to be doing a great job so far! I've sectioned off a part of their coop for her and the chicks. Pic of mom and my set up attached. How long do I...

    Infected injury?

Thank you! There's no bad odor or pus that I can see. I'll keep an eye and put the triple antibiotic ointment on it too. If it starts to look worse I'll get some chlorhexidine. I really appreciate the quick response. ☺️

    Infected injury?

Hi All! My light Brahma was attacked by a hawk last week. I was right there and chased it off. I checked her over and didn't see any injuries or blood but yesterday noticed her feathers sticking out on the side of her head. It looks like she must have gotten hurt after all and it might be...

I gave her some honey and acv water and she regurgitated some brownish stuff. It's seems like she's trying to get out more. Her crop isn'tt full but I think there's a lump in...

    Feeding multiple age flocks

Hello all! I have three 18 week olds and six 7 week olds. I'm in the process of integrating them (pic of them getting some free range time together) but wonder how to manage the food when they are all together. I know I need to switch the older ones to layer feed. Right now they are all eating...
