Ya’ll I don’t know what to do. We have lost 9 birds in the last week. Something keeps ripping holes in the chicken wire and getting in. It’s killing the birds them eating them in the cage and dashing without the bodies. Last night my husband sat out and shot two coyotes, three skunks and two...
Anyone have problems with their kids raising chickens and then not eating chicken? At what age did it start? Baby is learning words and I’m thinking I might call the chickens Hens and a rooster all the time to disassociate
All, I noticed some spots on one of my pekin's beaks this morning. It was acting very isolated then I saw these spots which are entirely new. Like within a day new. I thought maybe it just needed a good bath, a little spa treatment. We live in Michigan so everything is still frozen here and they...

I figure there's not much I can do about the comb at this point. It's...

Our rooster has what looks like severe frostbite on his comb (as pictured). His spurs are darkened too. We put him in a crate in the barn out of the wind (gusts up to 60 mph today and about 35°) with a heat lamp on him. He's eating and is very vocal because this is obviously not his favorite...
Hey everyone! I'm in need of some advice. I have a 1.5 year old hen who's broody for the first time. First two weeks of broodiness I removed her from the nesting boxes as much as I could. Didn't work. So I've put her in a raised wire dog cage with the bottom tray portion taken out (it's on top...
