I have to say that how I deal with a broody depends a lot on her individual personality. I have a hen who I can give babies to raise any time -even if she's not broody. I have hens I can move any time of day without any issue. I have some I let staybroody and others who need to be "broken"...
Paint alone has not been great for me. I'll figure something out. I may try some thick contact type paper stuff to see how it goes. I have a bunch leftover from another project. Or maybe I'll try the PVC panels. Or vinyl tile. Or all of the above to see what works best for projectile poop. Haha!
See, now, mine hasn't. That's what I've been trying to combat. I've got 3 coats of waterproofing membrane on my big coop, and the poop is just not coming off the walls. And I've been good about scraping if off when I see it. Oh well. It was definitely worth the ask. I got good feedback. Thanks!
Makes sense. My current coops don't have it, and even with the Henry's roof patch I used, scrubbing duck poop off the walls has been... fun. Lol. I was hoping to avoid that in the future if possible.
I'm juuuuust bout done with my new 10x10 walk in coop. Right now, I have t1-11 siding, which has a weird OSB texture on the back) that I've lime washed, but I'm starting to wonder if some heavy duty peel and stick wallpaper might make it easier to clean.
I'm not too worried about it staying...
Sorry! I've been super busy, so I missed all the replies.
The vet said she was between 4 and 5 weeks, and we had her on kitten milk replacer for a week. She weighed just under 1 lb at that time.
That's what I thought, but idk whose or when. Poor thing. Her little face bleeds whenever she eats, but she is quite literally the sweetest kitten I've ever seen.
You could always start an allale flock, if you can keep them away from any hens. Just a thought, but everyone has given you good input.
I have 3 roosters and 24 hens, and it works out fine. I thought for sure they'd kill each other, but they all get along pretty well. It just kinda depends on...
