I already wish I could have more! I want a big coop so badly but that will have to wait until later down the road. One day I WILL have my dream coop. :)
My parents have a large coop and she said she'll foster two of my chickens. I'm just going to keep one until we can build a bigger coop. I'm so bummed. I thought the armoire coop would be big enough but I was wrong. :( Oh well. My one chicken should be very happy with her very own coop.
We have three chickens (2 RIR, 1 BSL) in a small-ish coop. We built it out of a recycled armoire and built/attached a pen to the back of it. The pen itself is about 5ft x 5ft x 5ft cube. These three chickens have been raised together since they hatched. One RIR injured her comb (I talked about...
I put the crate next to the coop for a while today and just sat out there and watched them. I wish I had something I could just leave outside for a few days but the crate wouldn't be safe left out there. Once the spot on her head is completely healed, I will try again. Hopefully they will get...
That's exactly what I just did. I took out the aggressor and put her in the crate that the other one had been in. The other two seem to be getting along fine, although my other RIR seems a little cautious and territorial. She's not attacking the other one though. I'm just afraid if she gets...
OMG! I'm SO frustrated right now. I have a RIR chicken that's been isolated for several days because of a comb injury. It's almost healed but I put some Blu-Kote on it to try to mask it and then I put her back into the coop to see how they'd get along. My BSL chicken immediately attacked her...
Yes, I have heard about BluKote but have never used it. I may go pick some of that up. I just hope our BSL doesn't pick on her. She' seems to be on the aggressive side. My RIR's are pretty docile. Thanks for the advice. I really appreciate it! :)
Hi there! I'm new here and have a question. We have a small coop and three chickens- 2 RIR and 1 BSL. One of our RIR's recently ripped the back of her comb somehow. I'm not sure if it was one of the other chickens or if she hurt it some other way. Although, I did see the BSL pecking at it right...
