Ultrasound machines to keep wild bird out of coop

My coop and run are being overrun by wild birds on a daily basis. Everyday I chase 10-20 out. Has anyone tried the ultrasonic sound machines advertised to keep the birds away? I would try them but I’m afraid of hurting my chickens with the sound waves. Has anyone had any luck with the shiny...

    Treating Tapeworms - Under Construction

I had a very sick bird and found that our local University has a veterinarian school, like many do, so I take my birds to their vet extension and they are more than happy to help. It costs a lot less than a vet clinic. The students are overseen by their teachers so it’s very safe. They can...

oh no...not another feeder question. keeping birds and rats out? treadle designs?

I am in the same boat! I tried a clear plastic sheet covering the chicken run & coop doors with about 2 inch slits cut the length of the entry. It took the chickens a couple days to understand that they could just walk through it (my method was to tape up 2 of the flaps & leave 1 flap down and...

How do I keep wild birds out of my coop?

Did you find a solution? I have the exact same problem. It’s driving me crazy. Do any of the ultrasonic sound machines work without harming the chickens? Do any of the sparkling spinners work?

Just a thought here…why not take them to a vet? I see pages and pages of guessing about products and doses. Why not take your bird to the vet and then give the medicine to all the flock. That’s what I did and it removed all the guess work. I mean no disrespect, just asking.

The coop and roost bars are very well cleaned. I just don’t know where she would be just laying around in chicken poop. 🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️

Red Angry bottom and no eggs

How can I make the Urates not scald her? And why would her Urates be scalding just her when they all eat the same things and sleep on the same roost bar? I’m so confused. Is there a way to neutralize it?

Ok, I will cut back on the scratch amount. Is everyday still ok?

What are Urates and how does it scald her underbelly up to her neck? Sorry if it’s a dumb question. I really appreciate the info provided.

Red Angry bottom and no eggs

Usually everyday or every other day. And veggie scraps a couple times a week. I cut out all scraps and scratch for weeks at a time and haven’t noticed any changes good or bad. In your opinion for a flock of 11 is a scant 3 cups of premium scratch and 1 cup meal worms to much?

So this should be applied to the entire area that is red and hot? Because it runs the whole length of her body. Starting at the booty and all up her underside to about the neck area. Will it “heal” the skin or just camouflage it with blue so she can not be brutalized by the flock? Because...
