    This is my BCM hen's first season. She laid her dark egg for a few months but then she stopped. She hasn't laid for about 2 months. She's eating well & acting normal. Does this breed not lay year round or in the summer?

    I'm new to Marans. I didn't know that Wheatens were that similar to BCMs. How exactly do I tell if mine are BCM?

    Hi, I did the breeding. The hen & roo are BCM and I purchased them from a BCM breeder and saw her stock of breeders. I only have 1 chocolate layer and only 1 roo so I know who laid the eggs and I put them in my incubator. I'm positive on who the parents are, that's why I'm so confused on these...

    Black Copper Maran Chicks

    I'm confused! All 5 of the chicks in the pic came from my BCM pair. This is the first time I've hatched BCM eggs, is it normal for there to be this much variety in them?
