    Codependent Guineas?

It took ours a few weeks before they would leave the perimeter of the house, and now they free range almost a 1/4 mile away during the day. They've also discovered the road out front! We have 18, so they are pretty brave as a group... but I could see a small group just going to the same place...

    Dog run as coop?

He definitely tangoed with some critter, ouch! I would keep those new keets locked up for several weeks/months and keep them happy, otherwise they may just wander off with ol' Pete. If you can get all of them in there together for a few weeks, I think that'd be ideal. Good luck!

Why are my guineas becoming handicapped?

Could they be getting attacked or somehow messed with during the night? Owls, for example?

Just installed Pullet-Shut auto solar door on the guinea coop!

I'm not entirely sure what time it opened this morning, but I would guess around 6am. Last night it closed around 9:15pm, and there haven't been any issues with birds getting caught outside (yet). They've learned (begrudgingly) to use the new door, and everything seems to be working just fine :)

Guess what showed up in the field today?

    LOL! SO MUCH POOP.

Just installed Pullet-Shut auto solar door on the guinea coop!

Hi all, thought you might be interested in the automatic door I just installed on the guinea's coop. After some research, I decided this would be the best option for my setup and so far, so good. The door and materials are REALLY well made. Last night the door shut right around 9pm, and I'm...

Best type of system for guinea's water

Has anyone had success with using nipple feeders with guineas? I'm still using the cup-style waterers I posted above, but they constantly perch on top of the bucket and crap all inside the cups :(

So proud of my vicious little keets!

I didn't know either, just learned that myself: http://www.npr.org/sections/goatsandsoda/2017/03/06/518219485/forbidding-forecast-for-lyme-disease-in-the-northeast

Cool, I hope mine eat mice! Mice are major carriers of ticks...

You have thoroughly covered your bases, very nice! Good luck with the newbies :)

Best type of system for guinea's water

We started with one of these for the keets: and then I made a 5gal bucket when they were about 3 weeks old using these (due largely to the same issue, they were kicking pine chips into it and pooping in it): and they seemed to figure it out soon enough... I figure if they get thirsty enough...

Help! Guineas have sores on their head.

Glad you got some revenge! Oddly enough, I took a shot at a possum about a week ago whom I saw wandering towards the coop right at twilight. Not sure if I got it, but I haven't seen it since. Ironically, I also learned that possums (or opossums?) eat loads of ticks... so I'm on the fence about...

Well today I started the release.....

Cool! How do you get only a few out at a time? mine all run together, so I'm sort of thinking they might all run out at the same time... I also have 21 of them, so there's that.
