I got 2 Barred Rock chicks back in March, to help raise some ducks. I was wondering when should I be able to start telling if one is a rooster? Also when should they start laying?

I tried a little excercise this evening to see how the older ducklings would take to the younger ones. They were pretty mean, I figure I might be able to slowly introduce them day by day and hopefully they’ll take them without hurting them. Any ideas?

Thanks we got 4 mallards, 4 khaki Campbells, 2 cayugas and 3 Indian Runners. If I’m not mistaken the inside is 48”x 48” and the front is 4’ tall and the back is 3’ tall
