I have some adult chickens and 8 week old chicks that I want to introduce. My main concern is how to keep the adults from eating the starter feed and the chicks from eating the layer feed.
What I was meaning, for example, is if there are three ameraucana chicks #1 is blue wheaten, #2 is buff, and #3 is silver, do they all have the same patterns and coloring?
I put the duckling in with the female this morning. She never got aggressive. The duckling caught on that the female was its mom and tried to get under her to get warm but the female acted scared and just ran away getting chased in circles by the duckling.
How do I introduce a 2 day old mallard duckling to a female mallard? Do you think that if I introduced it at the right time the mom duck would accept it?
The egg finally hatched!!! I Know it is a full bred mallard duckling because I have only have a pair of mallards but the duckling is all brown or black. Any info is apreciated.
Also another question about the duck egg. I'm using a Brinsea incubator and at two days before hatching you are suppose to fill the water pot all the way full. I don't know when the two days before hatch is so what do I do now?
