So my Welssumer went broody and I gathered a small bunch of our eggs and one hatched i wasn't present for all the hatchings, so not sure who is who.
All chicks belong to Silver Laced Wyandotte Roo. In the bunch I included 2 EE, 2 Welssumer, 1 white Sultan, 1(blondie) I have no clue! Someone must...
I've noticed here little black spots before, and because they have been acting normal, still eating foraging, and running for treats I just passed it as normal circulation or frostbite (it hasn't been cold enough for frost bite though). Then today I realized my girl has these skin colored bumps...
Here are a few more pictures for comparison and different views. The feathering on its back is different, I'm not sure if it's normal or maybe the fact that she's mixed? I'm also now wondering if that means the other wyandotte is a cockerel as well. here's a picture of a close-up of her-1st...
A cockerel?! I didn't expect that, I have much to learn. I didn't see a bigg difference in the coloring, besides the reder comb. I e. Ever had a wyandotte roo.. do you know if they are aggressive? I'm going to have to look into "game fowl" also something new to me. The one in the back I believe...
I picked her up last night, but what I've seen so far yes. I haven't seen or heard any problems. The white sulton that came with her however, was pecking at her pretty badly last night. To he point that she was trying to hide under the other wyandottes body
The previous owner said she bought all 4 together at the local feed store. She said they were all a week old. She also said they were 12 weeks. I just picked them bio last night. So they are very new to me.
OK, these aren't the best my curiosity is killing me, I will take better pictures tomorrow when I set her free in the backyard. Here are the two wyandottes, maybe I'm just crazy here, but the lady I picked them up from said she got them both At just a few days old so they are the same age for...
yes I agree my description was horrible I tried taking some but she won't stand still. I will need someone to hold her. Besides it being different it worried me because she stands funny with her legs inverted. I figured it was because of her height and the cage shes in... please keep an eye so...
I don't really know these girls or where they came from. They are about 12 weeks old 2 are wyandottes. I already have one that I raised from chickhood so I know how they should look, but one of the two doesnt look the same.
I will post a picture tomorrow when I have a helping hand but for now...
Thank you all! Well at this point my barred hasn't changed much so I'll give it a few weeks before I decide whether I rehome "him" or not. And I'll keep you all updated!
Hi all! We are new to BYC and this is our very first post! Yesterday morning we drove 40 minutes to a local (Not so local to us) Feedstore. We picked out a four/five week old black astrolop, a baby buff Orpington, a 3 week barred and an "amauracana" which I have come to think is really an...
