Bare bottomed barred rock and a buff orp with an issue

It is winter here but in sc it doesn't get terribly cold often. I say that and only 2 weeks ago it was below freezing for days on end lol. Well I applied dust to them but probably not as thoroughly as need be... how often should I do this? I don't anticipate being able to clear the coop and...

So how do I dust the girls? Any special way?

Bare bottomed barred rock and a buff orp with an issue

Ok so today I went to TSC and got this to spray the coop for mites. I also picked up some of the garden and poultry powder and will dust the girls tonight (though I'm not sure how?) I also picked up meal worms, sun flower seeds, nutrena feather builder supplement, and some mealworm/sunflower...

No I did not determine there are mites. I want to treat proactively if I can.

We do have staggered roots, but have elongated the top bar so all ladies can get up and stay up comfortably. I may consider removing the bottom bar entirely as well if this doesn't resolve some more. Her bottom was a bit bright as I had just sprayed it. I'll check to feel if it's warm. I don't...

Bare bottomed barred rock and a buff orp with an issue

    1) What type of bird , age and weight (does the chicken seem or feel lighter or thinner than the others.) Barred rock and buff pro. Another speckeled Sussex is starting to thin near her vent too. 2) What is the behavior, exactly. Unsure 3) How long has the bird been exhibiting symptoms? Barred...

(Im)patiently waiting for someone to lay an egg!

My girls (2 speckled Sussex, 2 buff orphingtons 2 golden laced wyondeyte, and 2 Plymouth rocks) are 21 weeks old and I'm dyiiiing to get an egg already! No one's singing yet, only my rocks have red combs and waddles... no one lays down when pet. What other signs should I look for in these breeds...

    Enrichment?

Will the just pick and pull at the hay? Wish I had room for the pallets that would be fun! And I'll switch out their stumps occasionally too. They like that.

    Enrichment?

Well it sounds like I'm on the right track then... when my husband mows I have him throw the clippings in, and if I pull weeds I'll throw them in for em. Scraps and scratch too though I've been warned to not over do those as they are not as high in protein as their feed. How big is your parrot...

Yes if I am ever in question about a scrap I search here first.

    Scraps and scratch

How much is too much... I toss about 1.5-2 cups of scratch per day for my 8 ladies and give them breakfast lunch and dinner scraps. It's usually not too much, a half a banana here and some sausage there... and I'd rather it go to them than in the trash! But I don't want them to get fat lol. And...
