Help with hatching disaster
Did you check temp of 2nd incubator before the move. I've had to move wet birds to didn't have any problem I don't really recommend it but if brooder or inc. are the right temp shouldn't have a mass loss. Always preheat brooder and incubators at least 24 hours and check temps. Sorry about the hatch. -
New Bob White Quail owner, now what?
I would try to not to put them right next to the chickens give them a few feet between should be ok it'll keep the stress down as far a feed use game bird grower 20 percent protein till spring if u want eggs then use game bird layer good luck -

Bob White in the wild have life expectacey of 14 months. Granted a caged quail is under less stress. Don't know exact answer some others on forum may have more info. I wouldn't expect more than about 2.5. -

Bobwhite quail dying
At that age two thing come to mind aggression or disease since you only losing one every now and then I would look at stress first . Whey are fully mature at 16 weeks could have males establishing donimance even though if not breeding season. Watch them close to see if any are harassing the... -

Raising quail can be tricky. I've had loses to pecking and a little smothering also. These bird are 6 weeks old now just put them I flight pen . I'll post some pics soon -

My quail's head is really bloody!
The doesn't seem like it's caused from a ratio problem 1/3 or 1/2 it's hard to diagnose that kind of aggression sometimes there's not one. Could be the just don't get along. Most of my birds do fine can leave them together for life, but there are always exceptions to every rule. Have had to...
