Its working i mean it gets hot to the touch, i'm curious if its not the wattage i would need for this bator, its a lil smaller than the original but not too bad, i might try rigging up some light bulbs in thier and see how that goes, thanks Rick
I bought an old browner type incubator and then the heating element was shot so I installed a new one and it will only get to 60 degrees lol I might try putting in bulbs or something
i sat and watched them for awhile and it is one of the roosters i believe, i have one young banty and he's just all over the hens and i think i'll move him along and it should help alot....thanks for the advice...
I've got a flock of about 18 hens and two roosters, they have looked great all winter and then this spring i've noticed there's about five birds that have bald spots on their backs and one has a huge sore from i assume getting pecked, i have suspiscions it might be the smaller rooster i might...
I have one of these i'm rebuilding sort of, it has factory holes all around the side of it probably like six or ten, are their supposed to be plugs in these holes and you can open and close them as you go ?? thanks for any help on this...Rick
i tryed and ohm meter and got nothing, i'm not real skilled but it appears not to be working, its a metal looking element like whats found in the hovenators and such, i think i've found a couple that might work i'm going to order one tonight and give it a whirl, i thought of just buying a new...
It all appears to be working! There's a lite between the switch and the elem and it lites up? I also cleaned up the connections its hard to say what it is but it appears to be the element
Its a pretty typical heating element its round and is the type in a little giant or hovanator, but not exactly the same, i'm mostly curious how long should it take to warm up ?? should i leave it plugged in longer, it has a light on top to tell when its heating and that light lights up and works...
I have an old sears and roebuck round galvanized incubator I just got it going! How long would or should it take to heat up? I'm thinking maybe the element is shot but I only had it plugged in for 5 mins or so! Where could a fella get an element for one of these if need be? Thanks a bunch
Thanks for the reply, i think thats what i'm going to do, i'd build something a little easier but its for a friend and she wants a more decorative type setup etc.....so i think i'll build one kinda off a picture lol
