Thank you!! That makes a lot of sense and if I had to choose Id rather have sky thing but a weasel. Even if skunks are related they're my preference.
Hopefully they were active last night!
I live in northern nj and the wire mesh is 2"x4"...which I knew was too big but my husband used garden mesh that we have instead of buying more of the 1/2" that we used on the walls of the run. He thought I was wrong. ;) We'll be reinforcing the floor after this.
Thank you!! Someone is definitely using the previous tunnels but extending them considerably. Here's a new picture...this was not here when we caught the ground hog or skunk. This is a 2nd tunnel from my original post. I have a camera on the tunnel tonight. The ladies are safe in the coop at...
Thank you! As certain as I can be without seeing it first hand. The wire was not exposed like this until yesterday.
I'm going to reset the traps and see if I get anything. The tunnels are under the chicken door and this one is under the feeders.
My coop is a room sectioned in my shed with a predator proof covered run attached. I have a small door that let's the ladies into another run that is uncovered but fenced.
Over the summer we used have a heart traps and caught multiple groundhogs and a skunk under the shed.
Fast forward and...
I have an issue with my double vented lady (pic earlier in this thread)...she is always messy with poop on her feathers bc both vents operate normally. The vent that is off centered and at an angle makes her impossible to keep clean and while my minor lice issue with her is all but clear, I...
Thank you!! You confirmed my fears.
I neglected to mention the gray one has feathered legs. It has a single comb. Similar to the other 2 EE.
I suspect my polish is a male. Acts like a total jackal. Running around like it's crazy. Lol.
I think I have 3 EE, 2 silkies, a polish, & a sizzle or maybe it's a frizzle?
I'm mostly just wondering male or female on the EEs (gray, reddish, brown/gold) and the polish. They're 10 weeks old.
I'm pretty sure my white silkie is a pullet and the other 2 are bantams so I'm just going to wait...
I am probably crazy (my husband says I am w all my chicken talk) but there is no question this bird has 2 vents. Lol. I think the normal eggs are coming from the left and the minis are coming from the right. It's completely bizarre.
Thank you!! She just hit a year. There's no questioning this. I'm embarrassed to say I've just noticed it. I have a minor lice issue w 2 birds (she's one of the two) so I've been in their business a few times this week and while I check them regularly this one is slightly off to the side of the...
